Day 01: Delhi / Chandigarh to Bhuntar – Scenic Himalayan Journey

Your exciting Spiti Valley adventure begins with an early morning departure from Delhi or Chandigarh towards Bhuntar. The journey takes you through the beautiful landscapes of North India as you gradually enter the Himalayan region. Enjoy the changing scenery, from the plains to the green mountain valleys, while travelling through scenic roads towards Himachal Pradesh. The route offers beautiful views of rivers, forests and mountains, making the journey itself an important part of the experience. After covering approximately 500 km, arrive at Bhuntar in the evening or late night. Check in to the hotel/camp, have dinner and relax after the long journey. Overnight stay at Bhuntar.


Day 02: Bhuntar – Acclimatization & Activity Day

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed day at Bhuntar to prepare yourself for the high-altitude journey ahead. This day is kept mainly for acclimatization and leisure so that you can comfortably adjust to the Himalayan environment. You can explore the nearby surroundings, spend time beside the Beas River, relax at the hotel or participate in optional local activities depending on availability and weather conditions. For those travelling by motorcycle, this is also a good opportunity to check and prepare the bikes before beginning the Spiti circuit. Bike activities are not included in the package unless specifically mentioned. Enjoy a peaceful evening, have dinner and get ready for the adventurous journey towards Sangla and Spiti Valley. Overnight stay at Bhuntar.


Day 03: Bhuntar to Sarahan via Jibhi & Jalori Pass – Approx. 170 km

After breakfast, begin your scenic Himalayan drive from Bhuntar towards Sarahan, passing through the beautiful village of Jibhi and the spectacular Jalori Pass. Jibhi is known for its peaceful mountain atmosphere, traditional wooden houses, lush green forests and charming valley views. Continue your journey through winding mountain roads towards Jalori Pass, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding Himalayan landscape, subject to road and weather conditions. As you descend from the higher areas, continue towards Sarahan, a beautiful Himalayan village famous for the historic Bhimakali Temple and its stunning mountain surroundings. On arrival, check in to your hotel, relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Sarahan. Overnight stay at Sarahan.



Day 04: Sarahan to Chitkul – Sangla – Kalpa – Approx. 175 km

After breakfast, start your journey towards the beautiful Kinnaur Valley. Drive towards Chitkul, the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibetan border, known for its dramatic mountain scenery, traditional wooden houses, flowing river and peaceful surroundings. Spend some time exploring the village and enjoying the spectacular views before continuing towards Sangla Valley. The route through Sangla offers magnificent views of the Baspa River, apple orchards, green valleys and towering Himalayan peaks. Continue your journey towards Kalpa, one of the most scenic destinations in Kinnaur. On arrival, check in to your hotel and, if time permits, enjoy views of the magnificent Kinnaur Kailash range from the village. Spend the evening relaxing and enjoying the peaceful mountain surroundings. Overnight stay at Kalpa.



Day 05: Kalpa to Khab Sangam – Nako via Shipki La Route – Approx. 190 km

After breakfast, begin one of the most exciting sections of the Spiti journey as you leave Kalpa and travel towards the remote landscapes of Kinnaur. Proceed towards Khab Sangam, the spectacular confluence of the Sutlej and Spiti Rivers, where the landscape begins to change dramatically from green Kinnaur valleys to the barren and rugged terrain of the Trans-Himalayas. Continue towards the Shipki La route, subject to applicable permissions, road conditions and security restrictions, and enjoy the magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. The journey then continues towards Nako, a beautiful high-altitude village famous for its traditional houses, peaceful lake and ancient monastery. On arrival, check in to your accommodation and relax after the long mountain journey. Overnight stay at Nako.




Day 06: Nako – Tabo Monastery – Gue – Dhankar Monastery – Kaza – Approx. 120 km

After breakfast, continue deeper into the breathtaking landscapes of Spiti Valley. Your first major stop will be Tabo Monastery, one of the most important ancient Buddhist monasteries in the region, known for its historic architecture, meditation caves and spiritual atmosphere. From Tabo, continue towards Gue Village, where you can visit the famous ancient mummy preserved at the village monastery, subject to local access and opening conditions. Continue your journey towards Dhankar, dramatically located on a cliff overlooking the confluence of the Spiti and Pin Rivers. Visit the historic Dhankar Monastery and enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the valley. After exploring Dhankar, proceed towards Kaza, the main town and administrative centre of Spiti Valley. On arrival, check in to your hotel and relax. Overnight stay at Kaza.




Day 07: Kaza Local Sightseeing – Tashigang & Pinjoor – Approx. 80 km

After breakfast, enjoy a full day exploring the beautiful surroundings of Kaza and nearby Spiti villages. Drive towards the remote and scenic villages of Tashigang and Pinjoor, experiencing the unique landscape, traditional Spitian homes, Buddhist culture and dramatic Himalayan mountains. The region offers excellent opportunities to experience the peaceful lifestyle of the local communities and enjoy the raw beauty of the high-altitude desert. Depending on road conditions and available time, you can also explore nearby attractions around Kaza and visit local monasteries and villages. Return to Kaza in the evening and spend some time at leisure, exploring the local market or relaxing at the hotel. Overnight stay at Kaza.




Day 08: Kaza to Chandratal Lake – Approx. 95 km

After breakfast, leave Kaza and begin your journey towards the spectacular Chandratal Lake, one of the most beautiful high-altitude lakes in Himachal Pradesh. The route takes you through the rugged and breathtaking landscapes of Spiti, crossing remote mountain terrain and scenic valleys. Continue towards Kunzum Pass, subject to road and weather conditions, before proceeding towards the Chandratal region. After reaching the designated parking area, continue towards the lake according to local regulations and conditions. Chandratal, surrounded by towering mountains, is famous for its crystal-clear blue waters and spectacular surroundings. Spend the evening enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and incredible views of the Himalayan landscape. Overnight stay in a camp near Chandratal, subject to availability and operational conditions.




Day 09: Chandratal to Manali via Atal Tunnel – Delhi – Approx. 550 km

Wake up early and enjoy the beautiful morning views around Chandratal before beginning the long return journey. Travel towards Manali through the spectacular mountain roads, passing through Batal, Gramphoo and the Lahaul Valley, subject to road conditions. Continue towards Manali and proceed through the Atal Tunnel, one of the major engineering landmarks connecting the Lahaul-Spiti region with Manali throughout much of the year. After crossing the tunnel, continue towards Manali and then begin the onward journey towards Delhi. This will be a long travel day, so refreshments and suitable breaks will be taken along the route. Continue the overnight journey towards Delhi and rest during the journey. Overnight journey to Delhi.




Day 10: Arrival in Delhi

Arrive in Delhi in the morning or as per the actual road and traffic conditions, marking the end of your memorable Spiti Valley 9 Nights / 10 Days adventure. The journey will leave you with unforgettable memories of high mountain passes, ancient monasteries, remote Himalayan villages, beautiful valleys, rugged landscapes and the unique culture of Spiti and Kinnaur. Tour ends with arrival in Delhi.
